Hells Angels biker Sylvain Tetreault, 48, one of a handful of suspects
on the lam since a massive bust in 2009, has been arrested in Bois des
Filion as part of the SharQc Operation.
"He was arrested leaving a home in Bois des Filion early Thursday
evening by the Montreal police regional mixed squad," Surete du Quebec
representative Christine Coulombe told CTV Montreal. "He did not resist
arrest and will appear in court Friday."
Tetreault will be charged with conspiracy to commit murder, after police
cuffed him in Bois des Filion as part of Operation SharQc Thursday evening.
He is expected to face a judge Friday morning in Montreal at the Gouin
Judicial Centre.
The SharQc operation had previously led to dozens of arrests of people
involved in bikers circles.
Sixty-five of the 156 indicted in April 2009 pleaded guilty. Eighteen of
the 28 that were not initially found were eventually brought in but as
of January, the other 10 remained sought by authorities.
Tetreault had been a fixture on the RCMP most wanted list as well as
that of the provincial SQ police and was known to be an expert welder.
Tetreault was involved in a murder attempt on a member of the Dark
Circle, a group of drug dealers opposed to the Hells Angels, in 1998.
Tetreault was sentenced to six years for the attempt, while parter Rock
Delaney was sentenced to five in January 2000, after the two were found
in a stolen Dodge Caravan that contained a machine gun equipped with a
silencer.
They were trying to kill Jean-Jacques Roy of the Rock Machine's Dark
Circle gang of Laval. Roy refused to testify against Tetreault.
Tetreault was made a Hells Angels prospect in 2001 while serving a six
year sentence. His parole was revoked in 2004 for breaking conditions
and being in contact with Hells Angels members.
On his RCMP most-wanted page Tetreault is listed as being sought for
murder, drug trafficking, conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to
commit drug trafficking, based on actions that took place following his
release.
Bois des Filion is a town of about 9,500 residents in the Laurentians
just north of Laval, about 25 km from downtown Montreal.
